Building muscle without weights is a great no cost alternative to pumping iron at an expensive gym, it is also a lot more risk free than straining yourself with huge iron weights. Not many people are aware of the benefits of building muscle without weights so I will explain about it a little in this article.
These weight free exercises are called calisthenics and are a great way to get ripped fast with no gym equipment. The training includes press ups, sit ups knee bends and more, basically the type of routine you would do to keep in trim or lose a little weight from certain areas of the body. What you need to do to use these exercises for building muscle without weights is to apply the calisthenics to them.
For example if you want stronger arm muscles then do the press ups but do twice as many and do them twice as slow, the same for the sit ups and all the other exercises. This puts more strain on your muscles and instead of just keeping you in trim actually builds muscle mass very quickly.
Another thing to remember is that your bigger muscles will need feeding, you have to increase your calorie intake to feed your new powerhouse body.Whatever you do though try not to get tempted by all the bodybuilding suppliments out there, they are very expensive and take away the whole point of free workouts at home.
All in all bodyweight calisthenics are a superb way of building muscle without weights that yield fantastic results when done properly.
